Download the Cluster Migration Support Tools (cluster-support.tgz) from My VMware.If you do not want this then your connector must be available on the outside on the internet with a FQDN. The video put’s the connector in outbound mode.If you want to enable root, follow this KB. The video uses root account enabled but this is not really needed if you do not want to enable root.You will have to migrate to a Windows machine. The onboard connector is no longer supported.

I followed this and have a few remarks 🙂 Peter Björk made a great video on how to do this. In this video, walk through the 3.3 to 19.03 upgrade process, and see the migration tool in action. A new migration tool, released in VMware Identity Manager 19.03, helps you upgrade from version 3.3 to 19.03.
